Terms of service

General

All our goods and services comply with all the standards required by UK legislation. When you shop with us online, a contract of sale is made at the time we accept your order, and the contract shall be under English law. By confirming your order on the website, you accept these terms and conditions.

Minimum Order Value

The minimum order value is £20.00.  Orders of less than £50.00 will incur a £5.00 delivery charge.  Orders over £50.00 will be delivered free of charge.

Cancellation 

We will start working on your order from 11.00pm on the evening it is placed (excluding Saturdays). As we cut and joint items to order, cancellation or amendment of your order once it has been confirmed by email will not be possible unless specifically agreed by ourselves. If the order has been dispatched, we will not cancel or amend your order.

Delivery Areas

We deliver using our own experienced drivers and refrigerated vans to the following London Postcodes only. During the check out process you will be asked to enter your delivery address postcode for verification before being allowed to proceed, or alternatively enter PICKUP if you wish to collect.

Delivery Times:

On checkout you will also have the option to select a delivery date. Next day delivery is available.  If a delivery date is not selected, we will deliver within 48 hours of the order being placed.

Once your order is fulfilled and ready to go, we will send you a confirmation email that your order is out for delivery.

We do not use third party couriers.  All our deliveries are carried out by our own drivers in our own refrigerated vans who work to strict regulations to make sure your delivery arrives with you safely and to your full satisfaction.

We expect you make arrangements for the delivery to be received on the day of delivery.  In the event there is nobody available to receive the delivery our driver will first call on the telephone number provided.  If it is still not possible to make contact with you, the delivery will be returned to our base for safe temperature-controlled storage and we will contact you to arrange the re-delivery.  Please note that re-delivery may incur an additional charge.  

There is a space for special delivery instructions during the checkout process. If you suspect that you may not be in to receive the delivery and you would like us to leave goods with a neighbour, please indicate this in the space provided.

Delivery Charges

Free delivery is available on all orders over £50.00, for orders of less than £50.00, a £5.00 delivery charge will be added to your order at checkout.

Collection

If you prefer, you can choose to collect your order in person.  We are open to the public from 7.00am to 12.00pm Monday to Saturday.  In the event you place an order for collection, the goods must be collected within two days from the date we have notified you that the goods are ready for collection. Failure to collect or contact us within this timeframe will lead to the goods being disposed of and the order deemed complete. No refunds can be made for uncollected orders.

Packaging

Unless already in the manufacturer’s original packaging, all our products will be vacuum packed onsite with best before dates clearly indicated.  When opening meat/fish which has been vacuum packed, it is common for there to be a slight odour and some slight discolouration. This smell is in no way an indication that there is a problem with the meat. It is known as "confinement odour" and is a result of the vacuum sealing process. After a few minutes, the smell will disappear, and the colour will return to normal.

Receiving, Storing & Consuming Ordered Items

Our driver will ask you to sign a delivery note as confirmation your delivery is received.  We ask that you please check your order to ensure all items are received before signing.

Once you have received your delivery, fresh products must be immediately refrigerated below 5 Degrees Celsius and consumed before the best before dates indicated on the packaging.

Frozen products must be immediately stored in the freezer below - 18 Degrees Celsius and consumed within the recommended best before dates.

Weight Variation

All our products have an indicative weight with a specific price for that weight.  As we prepare all orders individually, there may be a small variation either above or below the stated weight. We do our best to keep within 10% of the stated weight and the goods are weighed prior to packing.  We will consider any product delivered within the 10% tolerance to be complete.

Unfulfilled orders 

It is possible that from time to time we may not be able to deliver the items ordered within the 48hrs timeframe due to unavailability, or because the quality of product available does not meet our expectation.  If such a situation arises, we will contact you and offer an alternative to the ordered product. If we are unable to satisfy you with the alternative, we will cancel the item from your order after your agreement. When cancelling, we will make a full refund for the unfulfilled item.

Returns & Exchanges

We are happy to arrange exchange of items if we have delivered incorrectly, they are defective or delivered damaged. 

In the event you are unhappy with any product you have received and you wish to return or exchange them, please contact us by telephone on 020 7228 9907 or by email online@westminstermeat.com within 24 hrs of receiving your delivery.  When sending your request by email, please include photographs of the product to allow us to quickly asses your complaint.

Due to the nature of the products being delivered, we trust you understand that all claims must be made within 24 hours of receiving your delivery to be considered.

We cannot accept the return of fresh goods, any product that has had the manufacturer’s packaging/seal opened, or that has been removed from its original packaging.

Refunds

In the event an exchange is not suitable resolution for an incorrect delivery, defect, or damage, we are happy to arrange a full refund.  Goods will need to be returned prior to the best before date or use by date. Returned goods must clearly show the order number.  Refunds will then be processed after approval.
